Information

A beautifully balanced Shiraz with red and dark fruit flavours combining with spice, dark chocolate and a hint of coffee.

Aged in a combination of French oak hogsheads and puncheons for 15 months of which 15% were new. Inky black in colour with a bright dark purple black hue. Lifted blackberry and liquorice aromas are intermeshed with infusions of graphite, white pepper and smoked meat like notes. Layered across the medium to full bodied palate are rich dark plum and liquorice fruits which have a spicy undertone. Subtle vanillin cedar, earthy graphite, black olive, smoked meat and black pepper characters lurk underneath. Finishes fresh with slightly chalky tannins and a relatively tightly wound aftertaste. Cellar 10-15 years.

Very smart. Scents of violet, dried seaweed, tapenade and boysenberry are strung across a finessed world of whole-bunch bramble, gently applied oak and maritime acidity. These beautifully positioned structural pillars confer a floating, ethereal feel that magically belies the wine's weight. Ample character, pure fruit and textural precision. Drink by 2028. 95 points - Ned Goodwin – James Halliday’s Australian Wine Companion
