A blend of 65% Chardonnay and 35% Pinot Noir. Only the Premiers and Grands Crus from among the Chardonnay and Pinot Noir are used while making this exceptional wine.
Traditional vinification and maturation occurs in small 228-liter oak casks, with self-imposed limits on production levels. To ensure that it maintains its original character, Alfred Gratien makes a conscious decision not to use malolactic fermentation in the production of its champagne. The aroma of the grapes and the land from which they came are thus preserved, and the wine retains its freshness, even as it ages.
Aging occurs in bottle for six to seven years.
Light yellow with gold reflections with a persistent mousse. There is a delicate mixture of honey, nuts and subtle hints of white fruits.
Powerful and well balanced, with a round finish.
This cuvée must be served above 10°C, ideally between 10°C and 12°C in very wide flutes. In these conditions, it will satisfy even the most demanding of palates on its own, without any further adornment but is a perfect pairing for oysters on the half shell and caviar.
Alfred Gratien champagnes are recognized as fine wines, served in France and around the world, featured on wine lists of Michelin-starred restaurants and in exclusive wine merchants.
