Information

From its delightful bouquet to its wistful lingering thread of tannin, it embodies the site and region. Wild herbs and buoyant red fruit aromatics lead into a long, delicate palate and an elegant, gently sappy finish.

The Glenlee vineyard was planted by Gary Andrus in 2002 to a high-density configuration (6000 vines per hectare). A band of glacial outwash and river gravels fans out through the highest eastern corner of this north-facing site.
Here, free-draining soil ensures vines are balanced with open canopies, lignified stems and ripe fruit. Glenlee Pinot Noir is drawn exclusively from these vines. The fruit combines fragrance with concentration and structure.

94 Points - Cam Douglas -

"A lovely varietal core of fruit greets the nose with scents of black cherry and plum, dried raspberry then smoky wood spices of French barrel and quiet savoury complexity. On the palate - equally ripe and enticing with flavours that reflect the nose, firm chalky tannins and acidity to match. The savoury layer intensifies with each new sip and oak flavours reveal more baking spices and toasty layers. A lovely still harmonising, yet showing great potential. Best in cellar till late 2022 then enjoy through 2032."

94/100 Bob Campbell -

"Deliciously fragrant, delicate cool-climate pinot noir with floral, violet, subtle fresh herb and red cherry flavours. Lovely purity and surprising power demonstrated by a lingering finish. A very appealing wine.@

92/100 Joe Czerwinski - Wine Advocate

"From a vineyard originally developed by Gary Andrus (Archery Summit, in Oregon) and planted to more than 6,000 vines per hectare, the 2019 Glenlee Pinot Noir smells intriguingly herbal and tea-like, yet it buffers those notes with concentrated strawberry and raspberry fruit. The result is a sort of briary complexity, nicely supported by fine-grained, silky tannins and bright acidity on the long-lasting finish. After a disappointing 2018, it's nice to see this bottling bounce back"
