The El Esteco wines are from Calchaquí valley, a unique region at
an altitude of 1,800 meters (5,500 feet) above sea level, with its
ever-present sunshine and perfect temperature range, the environment is
perfect for the creation of high-end wines. The Don David range of wines
are named after Don David Michel a French immigrant who came to the
region and founded the El Esteco winery back in 1892. Today El Esteco is
the flagship winery of the region and making its mark on the wine
world.
Select grapes from older vines. 70% of the wine is aged in small barrels
of both American (40%) and French (60%) Oak for 12 months.
