The 2020 Selection Chardonnay is absolutely superb. 100% handpicked, 100% whole bunch pressed and fermented in finest French oak barrels including 21% new oak. 2020 was an exceptional vintage, with a long hot dry summer.
The nose is filled with brioche, peach, melon and grapefruit pith with hints of toasted nuts and spice. On the palate the wine is seamless with many different flavours flowing nicely together. All the hallmarks of an ultra-premium Chardonnay are present – the fruit, oak and MLF flavours coalesce together nicely. Hawke’s Bay Chardonnay at its absolute pinnacle for what is arguably a very low price for this kind of quality.
